Check Henrico 24 Hour Releases

A Henrico County 24 hour release check asks who left the county jail today, not merely who is absent from a live roster. Henrico County does not publish an official list of people released in the last 24 hours. A same-day answer instead comes from matching a person across the jail's current-custody view, Virginia's jail notification system, the relevant court result, and the actual release entry. Each source answers a different part of the question. That distinction matters because a move to another custodian can look like release when it is only a transfer.

Henrico 24 Hour Release Finding

No official Henrico Sheriff or County channel provided a rolling 24-hour release list as of August 8, 2026. The official Henrico inmate search is limited to people currently held at Jail West or Jail East. It has no release filter, completed release date, release reason, destination, archive, or stated retention window. Its alphabetical browse is not a list of today's releases. A missing name cannot be converted into a claim that the person went home.

The live detail can display an inmate ID, full name, booking date and time, facility, next court information, bond, charge descriptions, and a projected release date. That projected date is an estimate for a person still held. It is not the time when the jail completed an exit. A recent event may also take time to reach an operational screen or alert service.

The Henrico Sheriff search was captured as the relevant official starting point, not as a substitute release feed.

Henrico County current jail search used to check 24 hour releases

Its current-custody focus is why the rest of the same-day confirmation chain remains necessary.

Same-day check: Treat a blank current search as a lead. Confirm the event through VINE, the correct jail information line, the court order, and the Henrico release entry.

Check Henrico Releases Today

Use a person-specific chain because no official daily report exists. Keep the time of each lookup. Exact names, a date of birth, inmate ID, booking number, and likely facility help separate similar records and let staff locate the correct episode.

  1. Search the Henrico current locator by full last name or alphabetical browse. Compare the booking date, facility, and inmate ID. A current match means the person remains in the displayed Henrico custody.
  2. Open VINELink, select Virginia, and search the same person in Virginia Jail VINE. Record the agency, exact status or event language, date, and time.
  3. Call the facility shown in the last reliable result. Jail West uses 804-501-4581 during business hours and 804-501-4586 after hours. Jail East uses 804-652-1211 and 804-652-1100 after hours.
  4. Review the Henrico court docket for the order behind the event. A bond, dismissal, sentence, or transfer order explains legal authority but does not supply the jail's exact processing time.
  5. Request the existing booking and release entry when durable proof is needed. Ask for the actual time, recorded disposition, and destination or receiving authority, if recorded.

For a wider time span, the Jail Releases: 72 Hours page applies this evidence chain across three days. Neither time window is a substitute for the underlying Henrico County release record.

Henrico Release Fields to Request

Since there is no public Henrico 24-hour feed, no verified feed fields can be listed. The useful field set comes from a focused request for an existing booking episode. Ask without assuming every field is public or that Henrico uses a particular label. Quote the agency's actual event term when the response arrives.

Requested fieldWhat it can establish
Name and identifiersConnect the response to the correct person rather than a similar name.
Booking number and booking timeIdentify the exact Henrico custody episode being examined.
FacilityShow whether Jail West or Jail East held the person for that episode.
Actual release date and timeDocument when Henrico recorded the person leaving its custody or control.
Disposition or event typeState the recorded outcome, such as bond, court order, sentence served, or transfer.
Destination or receiving authorityDistinguish community release from delivery to VADOC, another jail, federal custody, or ICE.

The public current detail does not provide these accomplished-release fields. It supplies present-custody data and a projection. Court records add the judge's order, while the receiving agency establishes whether custody continued elsewhere.

When Henrico Releases Inmates

Jail West expressly contains an Intake & Release Booking unit. Henrico has not posted a verified release hour, weekend or holiday timetable, exit door, or family waiting point for either adult jail. Do not infer a pickup time from the court calendar or the projected release field. Processing can depend on the order, identity checks, holds, transport, property, and the type of exit.

Confirm the building before traveling. Jail West is at 4317 East Parham Road in Henrico. Jail East is at 17320 New Kent Highway in Barhamsville, physically in New Kent County. A Henrico case can therefore lead to an exit well outside the county government complex. Use the official Sheriff phone directory for business and after-hours lines, and ask whether the event is community release, an internal move, or transfer.

The phone-first rule is a local safeguard. A move between Jail East and Jail West is not release. Henrico may also place some people outside either building through regional arrangements. Verify both location and event before arranging a ride.

Henrico Release or Transfer

Leaving a Henrico jail building has several meanings. Community release may follow bond, recognizance, a court order, time served, or sentence completion. Custody may instead continue with VADOC, another local jail, federal authorities, ICE, or a hospital under guard. A person still shown at Jail West or Jail East has not completed release from that displayed custody. A person missing from the current search has an unresolved status until another source supplies an event.

Source resultCareful reading
Current Henrico matchStill in the displayed local jail custody; the projected date is not an exit.
No Henrico matchCould be release, transfer, spelling mismatch, system lag, or a record outside the adult locator.
VINE release eventThe supplying jail reported departure; confirm whether another custodian received the person.
VADOC institution resultThe Henrico exit was a state transfer, not community release.
Court release orderShows legal authority, but not the exact minute Henrico finished processing.

Use VADOC's locator only for a state-responsible person. Federal judgments lead to BOP or USMS sources. An ICE detainer can produce a civil immigration transfer after the local criminal event. Each agency controls its own custody record.

Henrico Alternatives Are Not Discharge

Several court-controlled programs let a person spend time outside a cell without ending the sentence. Pretrial supervision follows a bond order and remains tied to the pending case. Work release requires return to jail after each approved workday. Home incarceration is sentence service under electronic monitoring. Community Workforce and nonconsecutive time also remain structured forms of custody or sentence service.

Henrico posts program-specific amounts, not a universal release fee. Home incarceration lists a $25 processing and connection amount plus $10 per day. Work release lists $10 per released workday, and Community Workforce lists $8 per participation day. Judicial authorization and program rules control eligibility. A same-day observer should describe these results as alternative placement or community custody unless the record also shows final discharge.

This distinction prevents a false claim that someone was fully released. It also explains why a person may be physically outside Jail West yet remain under a Henrico sentence, supervision order, or required return.

Request Henrico Same-Day Release Proof

A narrow Virginia Freedom of Information Act request is the durable fallback. Identify the full name, date of birth or inmate ID if known, booking date range, and Jail East or Jail West. Ask for the existing intake or booking record, commitment and release entry, actual release date and time, recorded disposition, and destination or receiving authority. Electronic copies can reduce delivery costs, but personnel time may still be charged.

Henrico says it ordinarily responds within five working days. A written extension can add seven working days, and an estimate over $200 may require a deposit. Those response periods do not turn the request into a real-time release tool. They make it a record-confirmation method after phone, VINE, and court checks.

FOIA provides access to existing records; it does not require the County to build a new “last 24 hours” report. Ask for the named episode instead. If part is withheld, request the specific legal basis and all reasonably separable portions.

Note: The release sheet is stronger evidence than disappearance from the Henrico current roster or an unverified same-day report.
